J281: The 70's-era truck ran smoothly. The Caterpillar diesel sound brought back memories of Jack's youth, incredibly strong memories: wind in the face, the sway of the cab over dirt-and-gravel back roads, the smell of lubricant and exhaust.

Suddenly Jack felt uneasy. Uneasy to sign this over to the auctioneer along with the burnt-out sedan, assorted possessions and broken furniture that was at his father's place.

Maybe he should try to use the truck as it was intended....
