J0268. When I reached Tonopah, I had to make a choice: turn east and find a motel to stay at and let the storm, which now was easing, move through the mountains ahead, or turn west, and head homeward.
I chose west. I was tired of sleeping in my truck, or staying at motels. The storm didn’t seem so bad so what I feared most, to be caught in a flash flood in the rocky canyons to the southwest, seemed reduced. And there was no advisory on the radio.
