@RealKrafter - yes, there is much to be said for Soviet design principles. Simplicity is not always a bad thing. And you're very observant - that engine is indeed the one used on bulldozers and also locomotives. I'm amazed they managed to fit it in, but the truck is actually quite large. On its own it's not so obvious but parked next to a Scania or other modern truck you see just how big the Kraz is.

@Nissan730 - the drive was...painful. But fun! With the winter physics mod I had other trucks spinning their wheels and going nowhere on up ramps, the Kraz ...you just press the gas pedal and it goes. 6x6, baby! ;)

Soviet military equipment has always differed reliability, ruggedness and high off-road performance.
*Btw, I see in this modification is equipped with the engine YAMZ-А856.10 ,which is used on the russian bulldozers , so that environmental standards Euro can forget))

Oh that's what I was waiting for. I Knew Buddy was going to drive this one eventually ;)
I hope he'll manage to handle the clutch with his injured leg.

@Volvo1 - it's fantastic on snow! I even took it off road and it just keeps going.

S0245. There was no question of Britt driving this truck. Not without proper training. I had no idea how I would manage to drive a manual transmission with a leg that still wasn't quite all right and my injured back, but I also simply had to give it a try. It was too exciting to pass up!
I told Britt to drive home. I would be going slow and likely have to pause multiple times to rest my back, and she had a farm to manage. So we both set off in a winter storm, bound for the Netherlandands.
