J0287: The state police let him pass. He asked the accident inspector what happened.

"Poor maintenance. The driver failed to inspect the vehicle. Leaky air hoses and seized brake shoes on the trailer. Coming down the hill the driver lost control."

Jack found out that the driver was being held responsible, and had been arrested. He shrugged. Self-Inflicted problems.
